Mark E. Jones studied harpsichord and accompanying with Edith Kilbuck, and organ and conducting with L. Stanley Glarum at Lewis & Clark College. Mark was the founding Board President of the Portland Baroque Orchestra, served as Board President of the Early Music Guild of Oregon, and formed the Portland Gay Men’s Choir as that group’s first conductor.
As a church musician, Mark has been choirmaster and/or organist at Kenilworth Presbyterian Church and Augustana Lutheran (both in Portland), First Presbyterian (Bend, OR), and St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church (Gresham, OR).
While in the Bend area, he was also a member of I Solisti des Chutes, a chamber music group performing music for piano, violin/viola and voice, and created and directed the Sunriver Music Festival Choir. Mark loves cooking and gardening in his spare time and is learning the art of making the perfect risotto.
